Am I the only one annoyed that they had to bring up The Notebook in this trailer? Rachel McAdams has done so much more important, awesome, relevant work since 2004. The Lucky Ones was well-received, though underwatched (sadly I haven’t even seen it, yet) and I honestly thought Morning Glory was a triumph for non-romantic chick flicks everywhere, and she proved she can carry a film. However, Sherlock Holmes enjoyed great commercial success and even has a sequel coming out, so it would seem the more timely choice if you truly feel the need to qualify your lead actors by telling the audience where they know them from (an exercise in futility, as everyone has an Internet device in their hands as they’re watching the trailer anyway.)

If all you want is to get the Nicholas Sparks groupies out to see your movie, then why not just dig up Shane West’s corpse and Weekend at Bernie’s him into your movie. What’s that? Shane West is alive and well? Could have fooled me..
